Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence is teaming up with Courtney Cox on a new show called Cougar Town, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

It's exactly what you think.

A recently divorced, 40-year old cougar type woman, to be played by Courtney, will be the show's driving force.

Lawrence is quoted as saying: "Forty-year-old women on TV are so beautiful and perfect and wrinkle-free. People don't do the reality of it, and there is a real comedy area about a woman who is talking about Botox, about having sex with the lights on and how her body is changing."

The show is just in the pilot stage, so at the moment there's no guarantee that you'll even see it on TV.

If it is picked up hope it lasts longer than the great Dirt did!

Lindsay Lohan, who has reportedly dropped from size 6-8 to a drastic 2, has left friends worried over her diminishing health.

The actress had earlier denied rumours claiming that she had fallen victim to an eating disorder and had been bitten by the size zero bug, reports China Daily.

Friends of the 22-year-old, who is believed to have lost 14 lbs, were concerned that the singer might have taken things too far with herself.

A source said: “She is thinner than ever and we are concerned she is taking it too far.

“Lindsay's weight has always fluctuated, but since falling in love with Samantha Ronson - who is naturally very slim - Lindsay seems desperate to lose more weight.”

Meanwhile, Lindsay insists that she’s been on a healthy diet that includes ‘drinking buckets of green tea’ and ‘eating fresh fruit smoothies with aloe vera, sushi, pasta salad and lots of green vegetables such as broccoli and spinach’.

At a Paul Newman benefit on Monday, Joaquin Phoenix dropped quite the bomb:

"I want to take this opportunity… also to give you the exclusive and just talk a little bit about the fact that this will be my last performance as an actor… I'm not doing films anymore."

A journalist, shocked by the news, further probed Joaquin. "Are you serious?" Phoenix, who was curiously being followed by his own camera crews, reiterated, "Yeah. I'm working on my music. I'm done. I've been through that."

Chace Crawford says his Gossip Girl character, the preppy Nate Archibald, has been playing the field -- a lot! -- this season, "He's a bit of whore this year!"

After his character hooked up with an older woman, "there wasn't positive feedback from my parents," Crawford, 23, joked.

He previously admitted he can sometimes be uncomfortable by the show's racy undertone.

"Is that a weight on my conscience?" he said in an interview "Well, yes, I think it is. I come from a moral background, and I can see the power of the show, and imagine my old school teachers cringing, or my grandparents thinking, 'Oh, my God,' when they see me, say, having sex on a barstool. One less lawsuit for Lindsay Lohan to worry about.

Her former bodyguard has dropped a lawsuit against her for back wages. David Kim alleged Lohan owed him more than $55,000 for doing fun things like coordinating the starlet's security efforts, driving her and her posse to events, and basically being her bitch for five months back in 2006. Nowadays, that's Sam's job.

He claimed he was never paid, and actually lost about $10,000 in wages for mileage, tipping valets and hiring extra security.

No word on if the sides reached a settlement. Calls to attorneys for both sides were not returned.

Finally, Jessica Simpson has had some luck at the box office ... in Russia.

On Oct. 9, her comedy Major Movie Star debuted at the top of the box office in the country.

The movie - about a bubble gum movie star who enlists in the U.S. Army because she is so broke - will premiere in Bulgaria next month.

So far there's no U.S. release date set and, as Fox News points out, nor is there one for any other country in which English is the primary language.

Simpson's other big screen effort, Blonde Ambition, went obviouslystraight to DVD after having a run in just eight Texas theaters.

Following their successful collaboration on reviving the Beverly Hills, 90210 franchise with spinoff 90210, the CW and CBS Paramount TV are taking on Beverly Hills, 90210's own spinoff, Melrose Place.

The CW and CBS Par TV are developing a contemporary take on the 1990s Fox soap starring Heather Locklear.

Search is under way for a writer to pen the new project, whose plot is still murky. Just like with 90210, Darren Star, creator of Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place, isn't expected to be involved in the new Melrose Place series.

Michael Lohan has apologized for calling Lindsay's girlfriend Sam Ronson "a drug" earlier this summer.

"I definitely regret all the things I said about Samantha," Michael told New York magazine at a book party Oct. 21. "I'm a Christian," he added. "I should not pass judgment on anyone."

In September, Michael went off on Ronson, calling her a "dark, hideous and a disgusting representation of humanity." Lindsay snapped back, calling her dad a "coward" on her MySpace celebrity blog.

Michael says he's now learned not use the media to reach out to his daughter. "In the past, I felt that the best way to get to her was to speak out publicly," Michael said. "And it was the wrong choice."

Is Barack Obama a Nate, a Dan, a Chuck, a Serena, or a Blair?

Barack Obama. First of all he’s adorable. You know his older daughter’s friends all have crushes on him, as do his wife Michelle’s friends. Okay, as do I. Actually, I have this little fantasy where Barack I go to Barneys and right away he’s mobbed by the gay men in Cosmetics so he’s wearing Carolina Herrera cologne and a Kiehls cucumber eye masque. He buys me a sweet little gold Me and Ro bracelet before we head into the men’s department to get him a new suit. Of course he already knows he looks best in dark gray and he picks out a pink shirt which make me love him even more and then he picks out the most unboring pair of shoes they have because his taste is impeccable and oh where did they find this guy because he’s just… perfect!

But I digress. Back to the topic at hand. Barack Obama—is he a Nate, a Dan, a Chuck, a Serena, or a Blair?

Nate is a ridiculously hot stoner who strays from one girl to the other like a dog following a scent. There’s not an ambitious bone in his body. Maybe Barack went through his stoner phase back in the day, but I bet it only lasted a day. He’s no slacker, and whenever he talks about his wife Michelle you can totally tell that he’s still in love with her (sigh). Barack is definitely the hottest guy on campus, but he’s no Nate.

Dan writes poetry in a notebook and only owns two pairs of pants, both of which are corduroys from Old Navy. He’d rather not stand in front of a large group of people, talking about himself. Barack Obama does this a lot, and we like to watch him do it. Barack is no Dan.

Serena is the girl every boy wants and every girl wants to be. Hmm there might actually be some similarities here. What guy in Washington doesn’t want to be Barack Obama, and what sane girl doesn’t want him even just a tiny little bit? But Serena lacks ambition. She doesn’t know what she wants. Barack Obama knows he wants to be the next president of the United States, and I know you know you want to help him (so vote, my darlings, please vote). The truth is, Barack is just not blond enough or vague enough to be a Serena. Although he is pretty.

Then there’s Chuck. Wily, conniving, backstabbing, flamboyantly dressed Chuck. No way is Barack Obama a Chuck. Chuck would eat him for breakfast and spit him out into one of those monogrammed scarves he wears all the time.

Which leaves us with Blair. Barack and Blair are both beautiful, passionate, ambitious dreamers. They won’t stop until they get what they want, which gives them a bitchy, sexy edge—and we like them like that. They make sure we know what they want and enlist our help by convincing us that their agenda is our agenda, we’re all in it together, and if we’re really, really lucky they’ll ask us to go shopping with them at Barneys. They both have gleaming white, You Know You Want Me smiles. They both sleep with eye masks on, under silky satin sheets. They’re fastidious dressers. They’re both brunettes. They love nice hotels. Both their names start with the letter B. OMFG! Barack Obama is Blair!

I know the phrases ‘register to vote’ and ‘vote on November 4, 2008’ make you want to slap someone you hear them so much. But think of it this way: This your country, your campus, your school. Why not elect B to do what B does best: steal everyone’s hearts, stay in lots of nice hotels, wear the best clothes, look really good on camera, and make us all want to be more like B, because the truth is no one could possibly do it better. So get over yourself and vote. You know you want to.

I’ll be watching closely. I’ll be watching all of us. It’s going to be a wild and wicked year, I can smell it.

Lindsay Lohan seems to be slinking back into the closet.

Lohan may love girlfriend Samantha Ronson (she just got back from joining her at a DJ gig in Japan), but she hasn’t exactly joined her team and she isn’t planning on doing it any time soon.

According to pals, Linds has been adamant about the fact that she’s not a lesbian and still loves men. In fact, Linds says, Sam is the only girl she would go for.

“She has been telling everyone over and over that she’s still into guys,” one friend spilled to us. “She keeps saying if anything went wrong with Sam she would date a guy next. She even flirts with guys when they go out.”

Biel is starring in the Easy Virtue flick as Larita, a recent divorcee that while in France marries a young Englishman on the spur of the moment. Sounds thrilling!

The 22-year-old starlet reportedly had her guest gig on Ugly Betty cut from six to four episodes after reportedly clashing with show star America Ferrera and having general attitude issues.

One production source said, “It was a mess. Lindsay would show up every day with an entourage of people. She smoked 24/7, and after she left, they had to repaint her dressing room it was such a mess.”

In addition, Lohan “would obsessively cut pictures of herself out of the tabloids like she was creating some sort of scrapbook and refused to go on set until America was there - it was a power play.”

One episode, titled Granny Pants, was about how Lohan, playing Betty’s high school nemesis, would “de-pants” Ferrera. But Ferrera exacts her revenge and pulls down Lohan’s pants instead. “Lindsay wasn’t wearing any underwear,” the source said.

We’re told the 22-year-old actress, who recently came out about her girl-on-girl love for the DJ, has also got a crush on chiselled Chace, 23.

After meeting him at the Diesel XXX Rock party in New York, the pair swapped numbers – and she has been calling him up to four times a day ever since.

Our party mole says: “Lindsay took a real shine to Chace and was pretty much throwing herself at him all night. She was standing in such a way that some part of her body was always touching him – at one point hip to hip.
“She was also giving him the filthiest looks, whispering in his ear, and turning everything he said into an innuendo.

“Everyone on the set of Gossip Girl has been teasing him mercilessly as Lindsay has been calling him three or four times a day and sending provocative text messages. Billie Piper has given birth to her first child today!

The 26 year-old actress delivered a baby boy at the private Portland Hospital, thought to be by Caesarean Section. Her husband, actor Laurence Fox, 29, drove her to the hospital and was present for the birth.

Mr Fox celebrated the birth with a pint of lager in the local Green Man pub next to the Portland yesterday with a group of friends.
The proud father showed off mobile phone pictures of his son.

A source said he told friends: 'You have no idea what's going on but it's amazing.' He admitted had initially panicked because he couldn't get the car to start after his wife went into labour. Speaking outside the hospital he said: 'I feel fantastic.'

He told reporters outside the Portland Hospital in London that the couple have named the baby Winston James Fox.

He said the baby weighed 6lb 11oz and was born at 0100 BST.

Showtime has opted to kill two morally bankrupt murderers birds with one stone, picking up Dexter for two more seasons, it was announced on Tuesday.

Seasons 4 and 5 will consist of 12 episodes each, with production to commence this spring in Los Angeles.

"Dexter's enormous success is a tribute to the great achievements of its cast, the producing team, the author of the original book [Jeff Lindsay], and the gifted Michael C. Hall," says Showtime president of entertainment Robert Greenblatt. "I thought at best we would attract adevoted cult audience but soon realized that, ironically, this show is so thematically rich and layered with humanity that audiences of all kinds have flocked to it."

Hall is a two-time Emmy and Golden Globe nominee for his portrayal of Dex, while the series itself was nominated this year for five Emmys, including Outstanding Drama Series.

Lindsay Lohan who has been cast for both Scream 4 & 5 in a still unknown role. The storyline in Scream 5 will see a Zodiac theme as the return killer will leave a note at every murder to leave clues at his and the other killer who appears in both 4 & 5's identity.

The 4th film in the series was confirmed by The Weinstein Company, with filming scheduled to start in 2009.

In a recent interview with tentative script writer Michael T. Kennedy, he revealed that most of the old characters, including Sidney Prescott, have been written into the script, and that it would be the last film to feature them.

Naomi Foner – the mother of Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal – has filed for divorce from their father, Stephen Gyllenhaal, Los Angeles court papers show.

During a Q interview and in an acceptance speech at the recent Q awards, Martin had expressed his admiration for the cashiers-made-good from Girls Aloud and so later during the night of the awards, Rees decided to bowl up and compliment the singer on excellent taste in women.
