Lindsay Lohan wasn't even paid for that cheap nudes
While some magazines reportedly spend millions to get their hands on exclusive photos of celebrities or their babies, New York paid Stern its standard fee for such assignments--and paid Lohan nothing for her participation, according to magazine spokeswoman Lauren Starke.
For a site that's averaged around a million page views a day lately, the results were stunning. NYmag.com recorded a total of more than 40 million page views Monday and Tuesday, more than 34 million of which came from the Lohan portfolio, Starke said.
According to New York's online rate card, the "super banner ad" of the type that appears on the Lohan photo slideshow has a CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions) of $15. Multiply that by the number of views and the Lohan slideshow ads were valued at more than $500,000 over two days. NYmag.com probably charged far less than the rate-card rate, as is common in the industry. Starke said the magazine doesn't disclose revenue details about advertising deals.
Still, New York's Web site no doubt made out pretty well. Some perspective: Based on its rate card, New York generated about as much revenue per day from its online slideshow as it would from four $64,500 full-page color ads in its print edition.
Playboy's Hugh Hefner has also offered the young star the chance to re-create Marilyn's famed nude swim from the unfinished film "Something's Got To Give."
But surely the talented Lohan said too much of a good thing is too much...

American designer Erin Fetherston has enlisted Hollywood beauties Kirsten Dunst and Zooey Deschanel to star in her latest fashion film, which premieres at Los Angeles Fashion Week in March.
The movie, which debuts at the West Hollywood hotspot Villa, showcases Ms Fetherston’s latest Shakespearean-inspired collection, described by the designer as: "Representations of Juliet throughout pop culture".
Her upcoming short, which remains nameless for the time being, will be the third fashion film she has collaborated on with childhood friend Dunst.

Jennifer Jason Leigh has reportedly pulled out of her latest movie, because she is pregnant.
Allegedly studio bosses were overheard at the Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (23Feb08) discussing the actress' departure from romantic comedy Spread and her reasons for leaving the cast.
A representative for Leigh has refused to confirm or deny the reports, saying "We don't comment on our clients' personal lives."

Wasn't skinny supposed to be out of fashion?
On Tuesday morning in Paris, as the fashion elite were gathering at the Balenciaga show, 17-year-old model Ali Michael was heading home to the U.S. far earlier than anticipated.
Miss Michael was last season's model du jour, and she looks wraithlike, with a still-developing body and a 23-inch waist. But this season, after gaining five pounds, Miss Michael was told by casting directors for the runway shows that her legs were too plump, according to her mother, Mary Ann Michael, who travels with her daughter to appointments and shows. And so, after doing a string of major supermodel shows in September, Miss Michael snared only the Yohji Yamamoto show in Paris this time around.
After walking the runway, her eyes blackened with corpse-like makeup, she said she was sad to be leaving but grateful to Mr. Yamamoto. "This show is special," she added.
But it isn't fair to just blame a few designers. In the U.S., France and Italy, casting directors, fashion designers, show overseers and fashion magazines move en masse, and no one is using models who look like models did 20 years ago. In her day, the aptly named Twiggy seemed wildly thin -- but she would look oversized on today's runways.
It's hard to imagine Miss Michael, a willowy, 5-foot-9-inch teenager, being told her legs are too fat. Last season, Miss Michael made herself sick keeping her weight down, said her mother. Miss Michael's reward was to be heralded as the next supermodel.
She opened Lanvin in Paris a year ago and walked the runways of Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Lacroix, Chanel, John Galliano, Dior, Rodarte and others. She appeared in Harper's Bazaar, Teen Vogue and W magazines and was personally congratulated by Vogue's Anna Wintour.
It's possible to become anesthetized to the models' looks. With heavy makeup, it's also easy to overlook how young many of them are. Miss Michael was "discovered" in Texas at 15.
Her mother, a stunning woman who was once a model herself, said her daughter's model friends have struggled to get thinner in recent months and that her daughter, worried about her health, chose not to starve herself.
"Our bags are packed," said Mrs. Michael sadly as she and her daughter prepared to fly home. Still, she said that she felt a sense of relief that her child was getting out of the fast lane of fashion, at least for now. "I have a really good, good daughter," she said.

Jamie Lynn Spears has been going great lengths to hide her baby bump from the public and is suffering from severe body image issues.
She has allegedly been wrapping two-inch-wide ace bandages tightly around her stomach to hide the bump, one source claims. When a guy recently complimented about her already curvier figure, Jamie Lynn replied “Shut up!” then turned to a friend and moaned “I hate my body”.

Owen attempts suicide and gets the girl back
Owen Wilson and Kate Hudson are back at it according to reports.
Apparently, Owen was seen leaving Kate's house last week and returned later in the day.
The two broke up last May and have been linked to other people since. Let's see....Kate is supposedly dating Justin Timberlake who is supposedly dating Jessica Biel. I think the next natural thing to happen is for Owen and Timberlake to date.

Mischa news
Mischa Barton has been formally charged with driving under the influence, possession of 28.5 grams of marijuana (a misdemeanor) and being an unlicensed driver in connection with her arrest in West Hollywood on December 27, 2007.
Mischa's formal arraignment will be in the Beverly Hills courthouse on February 28, though she is not required to attend.

A Naomi Campbell post
The supermodel underwent surgery Monday for what turned out to be an ovarian cyst.
During a consultation prior to her surgery, Naomi's doctor found the presence of a cyst and decided to perform surgery to remove the nodule. The doctors believe that the cyst could get inflamed rapidly if it was not removed.
Naomi is happy and conscious, according to friends.
She could be released from the hospital as soon as three days from now.

Giorgio Armani VS Anna Wintour
Italian designer Giorgio Armani set fashion tongues wagging after he criticised the industry's reigning queen Anna Wintour.
Speaking at a press conference to promote the upcoming Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition Superheroes, which he is co-chairing with Ms Wintour, Mr Armani said he could not understand why so many people dislike the US Vogue editor, claiming he was "indifferent" to her.
Not content to leave it at that, Mr Armani detailed what he thought sparked this dislike, referring to her championing of the US and French fashion industries and alleged lack of support for Italian fashion.
Standing with Ms Wintour, who supposedly once declared the Armani era over, he said: "I was told she said that, I hope that she didn't," according to reports in The Guardian.
Distancing himself further from his co-chair, he said they had different taste in clothes.
It was not immediately clear what inspired Mr Armani to break ranks with the traditionally more subtle air-kissing and back-stabbing atmosphere of the fashion world by criticising the industry's most powerful journalist to her face, but Ms Wintour's recent request that Italian designers group their shows more closely together to help US editors save money was not met with joy.
The top Milan shows once stretched over seven days but have now been compressed into four, leaving some lesser-known designers unable to attract top international editors to their shows.
Ms Wintour, whose dragon-like image was caricatured and brought into the mainstream in the film The Devil Wears Prada, based on a thinly-veiled roman à clef written by her former assistant, wields significant power in the fashion world and is often the brunt of criticism.

Aaron Carter ARRESTED
Aaron Carter was busted by police for drug possession midday yesterday.
The former pop star was stopped by the coppers for speeding in Kimble County, Texas. A subsequent search of his Cadillac Escalade turned up about two ounces (56.7 grams) of marijuana and he was taken to a local jail in the town of Junction, where he is currently behind bars.
Carter spent the night in jail and is due in court this morning for his arraignment.

It's a boy! And a girl!!!!

And unlike print, the Lohan score can continue indefinitely online. Wednesday, NYmag.com posted outtakes from the Lohan shoot, "so we expect the heavy traffic to continue,'' Starke said.
The photo portfolio also boosted sales of the print edition of New York. The magazine didn't increase its print run for the Lohan issue, but did set aside an additional 5,000 copies for single-issue back orders from its Web site. As of Wednesday afternoon, the magazine had sold more than a thousand copies of the Lohan issue in this fashion, Starke said.
What about newsstand sales? Specific details weren't available Wednesday, but newsstand circulation accounts for only about 5% of New York's overall take. Starke noted that "we anticipate a very high sell-through rate and have heard anecdotal evidence of copies flying off shelves."

THE private room being held for Jennifer Lopez at North Shore University Hospital is finally occupied.
Monday, we reported the room, which is furnished with a leather couch, had "been sitting empty for two weeks" in preparation for the pop diva's twins.
But a recent patient at the hospital said that during her visit, staffers were aflutter, exclaiming, "J.Lo is here!"
A rep for the expectant songstress did not return calls for a comment.

Lord of the Rings actor Sean Bean finally tied the knot with Georgina Sutcliffe on Tuesday.
The pair were due to wed last month but cancelled the nuptials 24 hours before the ceremony due to "personal reasons."
Sean and Georgina exchanged vows Tuesday morning at the Westminster Register Office in London.
This is his fourth marriage, and probably not his last.

Daniel Radcliffe, was spotted having a romantic, yet secret Valentine's date with his Harry Potter co-star Emma Watson last Thursday.
Emma was recently linked with Razorlight dirty birdy Johnny Borrell, 10 years her senior, though she denied the rumors on her personal website. Radcliffe just split from his Equus co-star, Laura O'Toole.
Daniel and Emma were spotted huddled together in the garden of a London pub near Radcliffe's home.

Scarlett Johansson album is almost ready
Scarlett Johansson is excited about her "magical" new album.
The Match Point star - who worked with singer songwriter Tom Waits on the LP 'Anywhere I Lay My Head' - revealed she enjoyed being "crazy" in the recording studio.
Scarlett said: "My album comes out in May, which is exciting. It was a whole other magical experience for me. It was amazing. I worked with some incredible people and was just able to work, do something completely different.
I recorded in a very remote area and just have free reign to be crazy crazy and that is so exciting.
Scarlett also revealed Waits was "very pleased" with her vocal talent.
She said: "
Tom Waits' melodies are so beautiful and his voice is so distinct. I sent him some of my early, early recordings, and he said, 'Go ahead.' I've heard he's very pleased."
'Anywhere I Lay My Head' features 10 covers of Waits' songs and one original tune, 'Song for Jo'.

Nicky has banned Paris from her home
Nicky Hilton has revealed that she has banned sister Paris from her new Hollywood home.
The fashion designer said Paris could not be trusted not to steal her interior decor ideas.
She told In Style: "I told her she isn't allowed to come over if she copies me."

Lindsay does The Last Sitting
In 1962, photographer Bert Stern shot a series of photos of Marilyn Monroe that have collectively come to be known as “The Last Sitting.”
Taken during several boozy sessions at the Hotel Bel-Air, the photographs are arguably the most famous images ever captured of America’s most famous actress: Monroe, sleepy-eyed and naked, sips from a Champagne glass, enacts a fan dance of sorts with various diaphanous scarves, romps with erotic playfulness on a bed of white linens.
