John Mayer is apparently in the running to become godfather to Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson's unborn tot.
The Fall Out Boy star has formed a close friendship with Jennifer Aniston's man – as is clear by anyone who reads their respective blogs.
"Pete and John have been spending a lot of time together lately and they get on so well," says a source.
“They are firm friends. John gets a bad rap and is always portrayed as a bad boy but he's got a heart of gold. Pete and Ashlee know that and they think he would make a great godparent."
There's just one stumbling block to overcome - Ashlee's sister and John's ex, Jessica.
The source adds, "But they are holding back asking him at the moment because they are not sure how Ashlee's sister Jessica would feel about her ex having such a strong link to her new niece."
The emo baby is due in October.

Jessica Simpson was abused
Jessica Simpson has revealed that a song written for her forthcoming country album is based on her own experience as a victim of abuse.
But the singer – who is currently dating Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo - refuses to go into detail about the painful memory.
When asked by the interviewer for Elle whether she has ever been physically abused, she replied, "I don't want to talk about it, but I have definitely experienced abuse in a way that I would tell people to take their heart and run."

(some of the pieces can be from the car he hit but his truck flipped and definitely suffered more damage) The debris was collected afterwards and was in the public domain on the street. a.k.a. it's legal.

Canadian hotness Ryan Gosling was spotted DJ'ing at Hollywood lounge Green Door on Tuesday night.
This is reportedly going to be a weekly deejay gig for the actor, who also has a band as a hobby.

Robin Hood canceled
The director of the new
Robin Hood blockbuster has pulled the plug on the film shoot after realising the green Sherwood Forest would turn brown before his crew had finished work.
Ridley Scott cancelled the production, which was due to begin in the UK in two weeks time, when it occurred to him that autumn would destroy his leafy backdrop.
A statement from Universal - the studio backing the project for an estimated £50 million - revealed that the stars of Nottingham, Russell Crowe and Sienna Miller, had been informed of the decision.
'The film's forest locations need to be green,' it added. The wrong shade of leaves is not the only problem. Universal said the anticipated Screen Actors Guild strike could throw a cloud over the production.
The studio is also unhappy with the script which was originally by Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris but has been redrafted by Oscar-winning screenwriter Brian Helgeland.
The statement from Universal added that it 'could have moved forward with one of these challenges, but the confluence of the three caused the studio to reconsider'.
Universal said it was still committed to the film, which will be a revisionary retelling of the Robin Hood story through the eyes of the Sheriff of Nottingham, played by Crowe.
Miller was due to play Maid Marian but scheduling clashes could now force her to drop out.
Just last month, Miller said she was thrilled at landing the part, saying: 'It's happening. I just found out. It's the most exciting news in the world.'

New Sex and the city movie: all about Samantha!
HBO has confirmed that a sequel to the
Sex And The City movie is in the works.
Producers were rumoured to be making plans for a second film last December, before the first was released.
They are now keen to capitalise on the success of the spinoff, which has made around £177.5 million at the worldwide box office.
HBO chief Michael Lombardo said: "There is enormous interest by Warner Brothers Newline to do another Sex And The City, and... they're trying with our help to put that together now."

Rumor is that Kim Cattrall's character is set to STAR in the next movie after approaching producers with the idea that Samantha should take the lead!

Not at fault!
Actor Shia LaBeouf was not at fault for an early-morning accident in Los Angeles, police said.
Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said detectives had found that the other driver apparently jumped a red light, and would be charged.
"He (LaBeouf) was not at fault," Whitmore said of the Transformers actor.
LaBeouf was detained on suspicion of drink driving on Sunday after the crash in which the Indiana Jones star injured his hand and knee.

Franco stepped into a stoner persona for
Pineapple Express, and now he’s set to explore his even more hippier side as the legendary poet Allen Ginsberg.
The actor revealed that he’ll be tackling the writer for a new movie called, appropriately enough,“
Howl, after Ginsberg’s famous poem written at the height of the Beat Generation.
“It’s by a two time Oscar Award winner named Rob Epstein, he’s actually a documentary film director,” Franco said of the project. “So I’m gonna play the young Allen Ginsberg, the days before he went bald and gained weight. The early Howl days.”

An eyewitness has come forward with new details surrounding Shia LaBeouf’s car crash on Sunday, including allegations that at least one person suggested the actor leave the scene of the incident.
Brian Perrulli was heading home from work in the early hours of Sunday morning, when he came across the accident, which occurred at the intersection of Fountain and La Brea in Los Angeles.
After pulling over to try and help out, Perrulli said he overheard a man, who had been in the vehicle LaBeouf hit, telling the actor to flee the accident scene.
“Shia was tending to the other people in the car, signing over information, like insurance and stuff and basically, I overheard the guy tell him, ‘You should just get out of here and go,’ and Shia said, ‘Nah man. I gotta deal with this. My license plate, it’s my car. I don’t wanna go, I gotta deal with this.’”
LaBeouf collided with another vehicle as he attempted to make a left hand turn in Hollywood in the early hours of Sunday morning. The green Ford truck LaBeouf and his female passenger were driving in flipped over.
LaBeouf, his passenger and a woman from the other vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment following the crash. While the two women were released, LaBeouf required surgery on his left hand.
He was also cited, arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and released while at the hospital by the Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department.
Perrulli claims he heard the man from the other vehicle, who has not yet been identified, say he would cover for the star.
“The guy Shia hit told him, ‘You should get outta here,’ and ‘I never saw you.’ He said, ‘I never saw you,’ and Shia said, ‘No, man, I gotta stay here and deal with this. It’s my problem,” Perrulli said.
While LaBeouf is due to head to court to face drunk driving charges, Perrulli said the actor did not seem intoxicated.
“He looked more disoriented and shocked more than drunk. I wouldn’t have thought he was drunk,” he said.

Shia arrested! (AGAIN)
Shia LaBeouf has been arrested for suspicion of a DUI misdemeanor.
The 22-year-old Transformers actor was arrested in Hollywood on suspicion of drunken driving Sunday after an early morning wreck in which the
Indiana Jones star injured his hand and knee, authorities said.
LaBeouf was trying to make a left turn at a West Hollywood intersection around 3 a.m. when his pickup collided with another vehicle, rolling the truck over, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Wolf said.
"It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated and he was subsequently placed under arrest," Wolf said. Shia was booked then released for misdemeanor DUI.
The 22-year-old actor was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was being treated for injuries to his left hand and a knee, as well as a minor head injury, Wolf said.
A woman passenger in LaBeouf's truck and the driver of the other vehicle were not seriously injured. Wolf did not know the identities of the woman or the other driver.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation, Wolf said. Two attorneys listed for LaBeouf did not immediately return calls from The Associated Press on Sunday; neither did two publicists for the actor.
The accident occurred when LaBeouf, who was headed northbound on La Brea Avenue, tried to turn onto Fountain Avenue, Wolf said. The intersection is the location of "High Voltage," the tattoo parlor where the TLC reality show "LA Ink" is filmed.
While being interviewed on
The Late Show with David Letterman in May, Shia joked, “Drinking and driving is one thing, but drinking and shopping … it’s just as bad.” What kind of jokes will Shia tell about drinking now?

Heath's bar
Before Heath Ledger's untimely death earlier this year, the Australian actor was a partner and investor in a bar he planned to open in Brooklyn.
Well, now, the bar is going ahead as planned!
Heath's father, Kim, was convinced that Ledger would have wanted the bar to move forward. So, being the executor of his estate, he allowed the release of the funds his son had previously allocated for the project.

Christian Bale is back on the promotional trail following the
assault accusations leveled against him by his mom and sister.
The actor showed up to the Barcelona premiere of The Dark Knight on Thursday evening. He posed for pictures but bypassed reporters and their pesky questions.
Bale was accompanied by his wife, Sandra 'Sibi' Blazic, who is said to be at the center of Sunday night's controversy. Christian's mom said some NOT SO NICE things about her.
Sibi was once Winona Ryder's personal assistant.
A source close to Batman says Bale's confident he’s done nothing wrong and blames his mother: "Christian was stressed, but he didn’t lay a finger on anyone. Instead, he flew off the handle and cussed his mother. He just got very loud because his mother was saying some very outrageous things about him, and his wife."
"Christian's attitude is that this was his mother's fault because she became very provocative in an argument they were having,’" the source said, adding: "Things got out of control and he now says he wishes he just left the room."
"Normally Christian would just call a friend and go out to a pub to cool off. But he was literally trapped into this confrontation with his mother and sister because there was an army of fans and paparazzi outside."
"They're going to need a "cooling off" period because his mother said some pretty outrageous things to him that really set him off. He regrets the way she treated him in their argument a lot more than having to talk to police about it. Christian has admitted that something just snapped, but he didn't threaten anyone with violence."
The report goes on to say:
"He can have a terrible temper. Instead of lashing out at his wife, he sometimes lashes out at people around him. He's under a lot of pressure right now and simply got incredibly loud with members of his family around. I think his wife is going to be very important to him after all this is over because she does, at the end of the day, know how to calm him down."
He is also said to have become depressed over the death of close friend and co-star Heath Ledger. The two actors formed a friendship when they both played Bob Dylan in the flick I’m Not There.
The source said, "Without Ledger around, he's found it more and more difficult to communicate with those around him, especially his family."
Another Bale insider confirms that Ledger's death was a massive blow for the Welshman:
"They had become very close during the making of The Dark Knight and Christian went into virtual hiding for the six weeks after Heath was found dead.
He wasn't returning phone calls and he wasn't a happy man. It's foolish to think that he's been able to completely shake off that grief just as Heath and his work is finally being seen by audiences.
He expected to share this moment with his friend, and now he can't."
It was also reported that Bale found it hard to shake off the mental strains of Batman, and told an interviewer he was having trouble sleeping.
Didn't Heath have trouble sleeping because of his The Dark Knight role too?

Christian Bale is violent
Christian Bale was one giant raw nerve just days before he allegedly pushed his mother.
Bale was on the set last Friday shooting "Terminator 4" at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico.
During a scene, Shane Hurlbut, director of cinematography, screwed up a shot -- at least in Christian's mind.
We're told Bale went ballistic, screaming "I will kick your ass" along with other choice remarks. Several hundred people heard the outburst -- including Military Police -- which was described as "intense."
We're told Bale was "extremely tired and having a bad day."

Heather Locklear has (successfully, we hope) completed her stint in rehab.
The actress spent four weeks receiving treatment at Sierra Tucson in Arizona and is currently home in Los Angeles.

Christian Bale just left the police station in London and has been driven away.
Batman himself, Christian Bale, has been accused of assault - by his own family!
He was arrested in London today in connection with assault charges brought against him by his mother and sister.
The incident apparently occurred in his hotel on Sunday.
He has handed himself into police voluntarily over the mysterious domestic feud. He went to Belgravia police station in central London earlier today.
When asked if Bale had been arrested, a police spokesman said "A 34-year-old man attended a central London police station this morning by appointment and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault. He currently remains in custody."

"We launched Lauren Conrad's collection, we've had Mandy Moore, we've had various different celebrity lines, but this one really seems to be hitting home."
Lohan and design partner Kristi Kaylor's 6126 collection (an homage to Marilyn Monroe's birthday) features four styles of cilngy legwear, including one with built-in kneepads—cheekily called Mr. President—in case your next '80s night turns especially raucous.
Noting the ease with which leggings fit right into that California-casual look, Hersh said, "Everybody loves to wear leggings, and everybody wants a piece of Hollywood. Lindsay is Hollywood."

Sienna to move in with Balthazar
Her love life has been super messy in the past so you'd think Sienna Miller would take it slowly with her new bloke. But no, she's about to move in with father-of-four Balthazar Getty - just a few weeks after dumping Rhys Ifans.
Sienna has already become a familiar fixture among the plush furnishings of Balti's LA mansion. And when the actor - who is heir to a mindboggling £25billion fortune - invited her to move in after a holiday in Italy, romantic Sienna already had her toothbrush ready.
A source said: "Before they went on holiday Sienna was staying over at Balti's place all the time. His wife and four children had moved out so they took full advantage. Sienna told a few friends that Balti had made some noises about moving in. Then during the holiday their feelings for each other got stronger.
"She doesn't really want to move into the family home because of all the history with his ex wife, so they are planning to buy somewhere new. But her friends are worried she's rushing into it."
We bet they are. Sienna, 26, returned to London yesterday, while Balti, 33, stayed on in Italy for his son Cassius's eighth birthday.
Her ex Rhys was keen for her to return - only because thoughtful Sienna changed the locks to her flat before her holiday.
A source said: "Rhys left a load of clothes, books and things at her place but had to wait until she got back to get them. The last thing he wanted to do is see Sienna. Those pics of her on holiday with Getty really stuck the knife in."
By the way Brothers & Sisters star Balthazar Getty and his wife of eight years, Rosetta, have separated he confirmed in a statement Monday.
"The breakdown of a marriage is a very difficult and painful experience especially when children are involved," Getty wrote. "In light of the fact that many pictures have surfaced in print and on the Internet which has caused myself and my family great embarrassment, I felt it necessary to at least acknowledge publicly that yes indeed my wife and I have separated and I will not be commenting any further."
